- Last weekend before going back to work. Drove down Friday night with Alex and Steve.
- Fish and chips in Darfield.
- Alex car sick up Arthurs Pass.
- Stayed at Glow worm cottages in Franz. No toilet paper!
- Day 1 – Walked up to the 2nd icefall. Got rained on. Long walk up, long walk down.
- Turned out Sim and I had inadvertently swapped a boot.
- Indian for dinner.
- Day 2 – climbed near the start of the glacier where the guided parties climb. Shorter walk. Hot day – 30deg.
- Long drive home.
- Town ran out of water by Monday – must have been the long showers.
- Excellent trip, need to buy some stripper pants and our own technical axes.
