{"id":8283,"date":"2017-02-05T06:17:18","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T06:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marvmis.simid.cloud\/?p=8283"},"modified":"2017-06-24T02:46:06","modified_gmt":"2017-06-24T02:46:06","slug":"lees-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marvmis.simid.cloud\/?p=8283","title":{"rendered":"Lees Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another excellent camping trip on the Groms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Day 1 &#8211; CHCh to Wooded Gully &#8211; 250 km&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>Took a leisurely ride up to &nbsp;Lake Coleridge. The wind was howling and the weather which was supposed to be sunny, wasn&#8217;t. But the sun came out eventually. We spent a bit oof time exploring &nbsp;around Coleridge, before backtracking and taking the road past lake Lyndon, Springfiel and on to Oxford for fuel. We camped at wooded Gully campsite just past Oxford.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Not sure how long on the road &#8211; probably from around 8am to 4 or 5pm.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent little tucked away camping spot in the forest<\/li>\n<li>Fuel consumption goes waaay up when riding in heavy wind<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/marvmis.simid.cloud\/wp-content\/gallery\/20170205-lees-valley\/00Map.JPG\" alt=\"00Map\"><\/p>\n<h2>Day 2 &#8211; Lees Valley to Home &#8211; 141 km<\/h2>\n<p>Simon had his first proper oops on the gravel today. That stuff is slippery. Luckily going fairly slow, but not slow enough. It was a very hot and dusty day on the road today and we were quite glad when we were back on the tarmac.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>140 km<\/li>\n<li>hot and dusty<\/li>\n<li>lots of cyclists on the road<\/li>\n<li>river crossing &nbsp; only ankle deep so easy.
