Palau & Yap – Part 2-Yap

GETTING THERE

• A 1 hour flight from Palau in the middle of the night 

MANTA RAY BAY

• This is where we stayed.  Cool spot where the restaurant is on a permanently anchored bout out front
• Good basic food
• Very friendly staff
• Dive equipment is showing a bit of wear. Limited sizes of fins. Nitrox levels a little bit inconsistent

DIVING

• Mantas make it all worth it
• Little bit disorganized when they swapped us out to a different boat the one day
• Long boat trips to the dive sites
• Water was cooler than expected
• Yap Caverns,  fantastic the one day, crap the next
• 2 dives a day  was actually pretty nice as it gave us the rest of the day to relax

Other

• Yap day – Once again Simon is a rockstar amongst 10 year olds
